Nippers - Update 7 Feb 2012
Have a safe 2012 until we meet again for the new Season 12/13 - we do have training days still happening so keep an eye on the calendar.
Our Age Manager for the U13's going up to U14's has some great training tips - so go and have a look at what you can do to keep your fitness levels up over the winter season. These tips are not just for the U14's but for everyone.
Please be careful in the rips - this is a great tip on Rips to watch.
Dont forget the "Big Swim" on 6th May 2012 as we need all parents on deck to help with our fundraising effort. All age groups have been allocated a time to help out with the BBQ on the day - It is our biggest fundraiser so please help out as all monies raised go to buy equipment for our Nippers to use. If you cant make the allocated time slot then please help out in a time you can. It is a huge day and many hands make light work for everyone involved.
Have a great Easter and stay safe.
Keep an eye on the calendar for updates and nipper days.
cheers
Jo

Water Safety & Bronze Award To those who do not have their Bronze we hope that you are starting to realise how important this Award is to the operation of our Club. Water Safety is an essential component of the day and we can never have enough parents in the water with those orange vests on keeping the kids safe.
So if you are would like to get this Award please contact Jo know so that we can compile another list of parents wishing to complete this course which is likely to commence in the New Season. Watch this space for more news as it comes in.
Board training on Saturdays and Wednesday mornings has experienced a great problem in having enough parents who the their Bronze Award to be able to do water safety. That is, we are getting lots of new kids turning up. While this is great and these children are more than welcome - parents of these children must be prepared to get into the water to help the coaches and water safety until their children are competent enough to look after themselves.
We will always ensure we have adequate water safety but learners virtually require one on one assistance. We are looking to their parents to assist these kids in the beginning, so parents bring your swimmers, come down on the sand and be prepared to get a little wet.
Thanks in anticipation of your assistance.
Lastly, if you do have your Bronze and you are proficient, PLEASE fill in the water safety log book and put on an orange vest each Sunday .... we need your help!!!
Canteen - Thank you Neah Eady for taking over the Co-ordination of the Canteen - please note that every time we operate the canteen we need lots of help - all those parents who have kids in the water please give some of your time to assisting as the money raised goes to help your kids. Ask for Neah and she will be only too happy to give you a task.
Club Equipment - All parents are asked to ensure that all equipment used by their child is rinsed off after use and packed away in the shed when finished with. If your child takes a board down to the beach, please ensure that board is brought back. We encourage the children to be responsible for Club Equipment so the terms of use are care and responsibility, including washing the equipment down at the end of the day and returning it to the shed. Once the equipment is returned to the shed, it is requested that children do not return to the shed and take the gear back out for free sessions.
